Dublin’s Super Cool Gibson Hotel…

This hotel is what makes writing this blog SOOOOOO much fun!!!

I decided to take a proper look at the hotel only recently and was totally blown away!! So much attention to detail!!

Situated in the Point Village, home of Dublin’s famed O2 music venue (formerly the Point Depot), the Gibson Hotel has thought of everything!!! And as you might expect, it is all about the music!!

Everywhere you look you will see the musical influence, sometimes obvious in the names of the bar (hemidemisemiquaver) or the restaurant (coda), to the more subliminal design messages such as the guitar fretboard windows as you travel the escalator (should you decide not to use the amazing glass lifts that ascend the outside of the hotel)

Everything starts on the third floor – Reception, the bar, the restaurant and even the extensive conference facilities all are situated here.

(Incidentally for all you guitar geeks like me out there  – all of the conference rooms are named after some of the world’s most famous guitars – Stratocaster, Rickenbacker, Broadcaster, Cordoba and Alhambra. The main room even has drum cymbals hanging from the ceiling!)

The bedrooms in the Gibson were definitely designed with the rock star in mind – bright and minimalist with clean lines, yet supremely comfortable……

There is so much more to say about this hotel……….. but just try it for yourself!!!

Dublin as a destination has never been better value for money. In fact it is now said to be the best value destination in Europe!!! This applies even more so to the Gibson Hotel!!!. So don’t wait until the Celtic Tiger wakes up from it’s little nap and Dublin hotel rates get back to where they should be…… check it out now!!!
